MY STORY

I remember as a young child having a passion to create my own imaginary contestants for the Miss World competition. I was fascinated by the diversity of cultures, their national dress and their unique facial features. It brought me great satisfaction as I found I could create these characters with ease. Well, this opened up the creative flood gates and my world has been one artistic adventure after another!

My two favorite classes at school were art and mathematics so at an early age I knew I would be heading straight to art school after graduation. I completed a graphic design honors degree and then worked for 30+ years in design studios and the latter of those years I ran my own design business. Alongside my design career my fine art pieces were exhibited in galleries in the UK and the USA. 

I am a 'forever student' and continue to refine my skills & my art business and I'm a lifetime member of Created to Thrive which is a Christian Artist Mentoring program. www.matttommeymentoring.com/christianartistdirectory 

What developed was a love for patterns and symbols.

Over the past decade I have studied symbolism and found it came naturally to me largely due to the fact that I have been designing logos for companies and individuals throughout my whole career.

I like to design with symbols in mind. Why? Because using simple, familiar objects to represent deeper concepts enlightens and expands the mind and soul, leaving lasting impressions. Symbols are multilayered, providing insights commensurate to one’s experience. Symbolism is a universal and timeless language. It brings color to the world of visual expression and take us beyond the literal. Symbols transcend culture expressing the language of the heart relative to life’s experiences.
